Michigan Technological University trains techies in the Wolverine State. The school, affectionately known as Michigan Tech, offers a range of programs in computing, engineering, technology, business and technology, forest resources and environmental science, social work, sciences and arts, and non-departmental sponsored educational programs. The school has an enrollment of about 7,000 undergraduate and graduate students, and a faculty of about 450 instructors. Michigan Technological University was founded in 1885 as the Michigan Mining School.
