Midong District (Pinyin: Mǐdōng Qū Uyghur: میدونگ رايونى, ULY: Midong Rayoni, UPNY: Midong Rayoni?) is a county within the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and is under the administrative jurisdiction of the Ürümqi City.
In 2007, the former Dongshan District (244 km2, population of 100,000 (2002 Census)) was merged with the Miquan (formerly part of Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture) to form the Midong district. It now contains 3408 km2 and a population of 296,000.[1]
