Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Print Kit

Games: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Print Kit

Game Description

Kids who can't get enough of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers can now bring those characters into their homes on a daily basis with the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Print Kit. Players have the choice of making calendars, bookmarks, banners, business cards and more with this versatile print kit.

Included are over 200 images, all in the form of line drawings, available in either color or black and white. Players are helped in selecting a project by the White Ranger's Lion Sword.

In addition to the projects available, players will be serenaded with the Power Rangers' theme and others as they work on and print their projects. The manual tells about the projects available and gives troubleshooting hints and helps, as well as the description of the controls.

Review: Overall

The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Print Kit enables users to make a wide variety of print products, such as banners, bookmarks, business cards, computer disk labels, coloring pages, envelopes, greeting cards and more. In fact, there are 17 different projects kids can print out and use in their room or around the house.

The interface is relatively easy to use. Kids can scroll through the available pictures (which are arranged by Ranger and then by group Zord and Enemies) or click on one of the groupings to take a shortcut to that section of the pictures. Other buttons allow players to change where the images appear on the page: to the left, centered or to the right or changed to the inside or outside (greeting cards only). Options are also available to change the font used, flip the pictures, change between black and white or color images and to select a border.

But this program does have a number of drawbacks. First, the images themselves are really chunky and bitmapped-looking. No smooth edges here which tends to make any project printed by the computer look decidedly amateurish and badly-drawn!

The other is the fact that the music tends to overpower the voice aspect of the program unless it is turned completely off and, without the voice, it's hard to tell exactly what project you have selected.

The manual is the one saving grace of the program as it is very detailed and describes what each control does. It also contains troubleshooting hints and a number which owners can call for customer service. Knowing how long it has been since this program was published, however, there is a very good chance that the number will not be in service any longer.

This program is intended for players five years of age and up, although younger players may need help from an older user.

Review: Enjoyment

If you go wild over the Power Rangers, you'll probably want to get this. Otherwise, steer clear.

Review: Graphics

Badly bit-mapped, and look crude upon printing.

Review: Sound

Loud, except for speech, which can be hidden by the music unless it is turned off.
