Biography

With her flowing golden locks and expressive, curiously mature eyes, young Mika Boorem has gained an impressive acting track record since her television debut at the age of nine in television's popular Touched By an Angel.

Born in Tucson, AZ, in August of 1987, Boorem does her best to balance the strenuous schedules that often accompany movie shoots with her education and the valuable time she spends with her friends and family. Nominated twice for a Young Artist Award for her roles in Jack Frost (1998) and The Patriot (2000), Boorem began acting on stage at the age of six before signing with an agent and appearing in commercials and on television. After appearing as a young Ally McBeal in the pilot episode of the popular series, the youngster went on to appear in such features as Along Came a Spider, Hearts in Atlantis, and Riding in Cars With Boys. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Mika Sue Boorem[1] (born August 18, 1987) is an American actress who has appeared in the films Blue Crush (2002), Sleepover (2004), and Smile (2005).

Biography

Mika Boorem was born in Tucson, Arizona, the daughter of Benjamin and Holly, and has an older brother, Benjamin. Mika began acting in local theater in Arizona, and subsequently moved to Los Angeles with her family, where she attended Lycée Français de Los Angeles. Mika has become known for starring in the films Sleepover (2004) and Smile (2005). She had supporting roles in the films Jack Frost (1998), The Patriot (2000), Along Came a Spider (2001), Hearts in Atlantis (2001), Blue Crush (2002) and Carolina (2003); and recurring roles on the TV series' Dawson's Creek and Touched by an Angel. She can also be seen in the Lifetime Movie drama, Augusta, Gone, The Initiation of Sarah, and a guest starring role in the House episode "Insensitive." She also guest starred in an episode of Ghost Whisperer during season 4

Mika has been nominated for a Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Sidekick (for her role on Dawson's Creek), and received four Young Artist Award nominations.[2]

Mika was featured in American idol Winner and RCA recording artist David Cook's music video "Light On."
