Mike Darrow and the Chums were more of a resourceful way of gaining publicity and new listeners for the CHUM AM radio station than they were a true rock group with hopes of climbing the music charts. Mike Darrow was one of the main disc jockeys for the Toronto, Canada, radio station during the late rock & roll '50s and into the free-love '60s. Working under Mike Darrow and the Chums and then under the Chumingbirds, Darrow took part in some tongue-in-cheek releases like "Brotherhood of Man" and "The Battle of Queenston Heights." ~ Charlotte Dillon, All Music Guide
