(b Sandomierz, c 1535; d ?Jazłowiec, ?5 March 1609). Polish composer. He was educated at the Polish court, where he was a wind player (1555-63), before moving to Sandomierz (1566-78) and Kraków. His 150 four-part psalms (1580) comprise the earliest known published musical setting of the Polish psalter.
