Identification badges of the United States military are insignia which are presented to service members for performing certain duties in the offices of the President, Vice President, Secretary of Defense, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Secretary of Homeland Security, and the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
The Presidential and Vice Presidential Service Badges are issued to the seven uniformed services of the United States and other aides to President and Vice President. The Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) and Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Identification Badges are issued only to service members serving in the those offices. The Department of Homeland Security Identification Badge is issued only to service members serving in the Office of the Secretary of Homeland Security. The Office of the Secretary of Health and Human Services Identification Badge is issued to USPHS Officers serving the Secretary as well as any additional uniformed service member who is assigned to the HHS Secretary for a period of at least a year.
