(nucleonics) A unit of absorbed ionizing radiation dose equal to one-thousandth of a rad. Abbreviated mrad.


A non-SI unit of dosage of absorbed radiation, 10−3 rad; abbreviated mrad. Now replaced by gray.

(mr) n one-thousandth of a rad. Normal background radiation in this country varies from about 50 to 200 mr per year, depending on geographic location.
