| 1975 | All I Asking for Is My Body. Murayama's first book deals with the lives of Japanese Americans living and working on Hawaiian sugar plantations during World War II. Only modestly received initially, when reissued in 1980 it would win the American Book Award and be recognized as one of the significant works of Hawaiian American literature. |
