Mimbres Valley AVA

This viticultural area, approved in 1985, encompasses 636,800 acres within Grant and Luna Counties in southwestern New Mexico not far from the Mexican border. St. Clair Winery is the area's only winery and, with a capacity of 100,000 gallons, New Mexico's largest. It sits at the 4500-foot level where warm days and cool nights provide a good environment for growing grapes.
