The Minhang District (simplified Chinese: 闵行区traditional Chinese: 閔行區pinyin: Mǐnháng Qū) of Shanghai has a land area of 371.57 km2 and population of 593,400 residents as of 2001.

It is mostly a residential district, though it is also home to some of the many factories and production facilities in Shanghai. Residential housing development is the main source of local government revenue.

Shanghai Metro Line 1 has its southwestern terminus in Minhang in the town of Xinzhuang, near the end of the Humin elevated road (Hu = Shanghai, Min = Minhang).

Shanghai Metro Line 5 runs all throughout Minhang from it terminus in Xinzhuang down southward to Minhang Development Zone.

Huacao Town has become one part of Minhang District.

Hongqiao Town, where the Hongqiao airport is located, is in the northern part of Minhang District.

Gubei Town famous for its expats community, is located in the northern part of Minhang District.

Qibao Town, dubbed ancient Town with 1000 year history, is a popular tourist attraction in the northern part of Minhang District

Shanghai Jiaotong University and East China Normal University both have campuses in the southern part of Minhang District.
