Plot

In this straightforward horror film, a new widow (Karen Black) and her daughter (Rainbow Harvest) have just moved into a new home. They don't discover until much later that the previous owner was mad, mad, mad. The film was followed by Mirror, Mirror 2: Raven Dance in 1994, Mirror, Mirror III: The Voyeur in 1995 and Mirror, Mirror IV: Reflection in 2000.

Plot summary

Megan Gordon (Rainbow Harvest) is a shy girl who moves into a new neighborhood from Los Angeles with her recently widowed mother Susan (Black). In her new school, Megan does not make many friends, and is taunted mercilessly by her peers, apart from Nikki Chandler (Kristin Dattilo) and handsome jock Ron (Ricky Paull Goldin). Megan finds in the attic of the house an antique framed mirror with special powers that seems to possess a demon inside of it. Megan becomes dependent on this mirror and soon it takes her over, giving her powers and her tolerance for the kids at school is wearing thin. People begin to die and things get out of control. Somehow the mirror must be stopped, but the mirror knows your every move. Once people realize what is going on, they try to kill what is inside of the mirror, before it kills them.
