Mirzo Ulugbek (also spelled Mirzo Ulug'bek) is one of 11 districts (tuman) of Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. It was named after the Persian astronomer, mathematician and sultan Ulugh Beg.
Overview
It is a north-eastern district of the city and was established in 1981 with the name of Kuybyshev,[2] referred to the Russian revolutionary leader Valerian Kuybyshev.
Mirzo Ulugbek borders with the districts of Yunusabad and Hamza. It borders also with Tashkent Province.
