Miss Florida USA

Wikipedia: Miss Florida USA

The Miss Florida USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state Florida in the Miss USA pageant.

Whilst Florida has been successful in terms of runners-up, finalists and semi-finalists the state has never won the Miss USA pageant, although Cheryl Patton became Miss USA after Sylvia Hitchcock won Miss Universe.

Florida's heyday was from the mid-sixties to mid-seventies, although they have had pockets of success from then on. Their most recent finalist was Jessica Rafalowski who placed 8th in 2008.

There have been two former Miss Florida Teen USA to win this competition, and three Miss Florida USA's have also competed at Miss America.
