Mitane (三種町 Mitane-chō) is a town in Yamamoto District in Akita Prefecture.
The town was created on March 20, 2006, by merging the towns of Hachiryū, Koto'oka, and Yamamoto, all from Yamamoto District.
As of August 31, 2011, the town has an estimated population of 19,326. The total area is 248.09 km2.[1]
