Mobilkom Austria is a major Austrian mobile network operator. It has been operating commercially since 1994 and in testing since 1992.
One of the most well-known commercial brand is A1 in Austria.
The Mobilkom Austria group also owns:
- Velcom in Belarus
- Mobiltel in Bulgaria
- VIPnet in Croatia
- Mobilkom Liechtenstein in Liechtenstein
- VIP Operator in Macedonia
- Vip mobile in Serbia
- Si.mobil in Slovenia
The revenue for the group at year end 2005 was 2,489,200,000 EUR, while the revenue for the Austrian branch was 1,719,100,000 EUR.
The company is owned by Telekom Austria AG. The two companies merged in July 2010, under a new name A1 Telekom Austria.
Mobilkom Austria is a partner of Vodafone, and the two companies co-operate extensively.
