Review

"Mockingbirds" was Grant Lee Buffalo's closest stab at a hit, and because of that, there are many different versions of the single for this song. This is a British single, and it features two non-album tracks that should be in any Grant Lee Buffalo fan's collection. Along with the title track, "Orpheus" and "Goodnight John Dee" make up this short but excellent single. The lonesome electric and slow, strumming, acoustic guitars accompany lyrics of Greek and Biblical proportions on "Orpheus." A similar mood is carried to "Goodnight John Dee." This release is any single-buyer's highest hope realized -- unreleased tracks that are as good as the rest of the band's output. ~ Dan Lee, Rovi
