Mogera kanoana is a species of mole native to Taiwan. The specific name kanoana is derived from Tadao Kano, a Japanese naturalist who made the first record of these animals in 1940s.
In 2004, biologists that from Japan and Taiwan found several specimens and confirmed the factuality of the existence of this species.
