Monkichi is a fictional monkey character created by the Japanese Company Sanrio. Born on January 13, 1981, Monkichi's full name is Oyama no Monkichi, which means Monkey of the Mountain in Japanese. Monkichi enjoys entertaining and making puns, and dreams of being a professional poet or comedian.[1]
Monkichi the monkey can be found on the packaging for a line of condoms manufactured by Fuji Latex Co., Ltd.[2]
