Plot

This mystical Taiwanese tale offers a mixture or romance, melodrama and fantasy. Set upon the famous Sun Moon Lake, the home of the Shao tribe, the story centers on the adventures of three young people. Taishan is a reporter come to cover the annual Dragonboat festival. Chien-Chien works for the nearby Environmental Management Agency. She and Taishan are getting romantically involved when Lilian, a Shao chief's daughter, enters the picture. She falls for Taishan and one night offers to show him her clan's ancient dragon boat. Chien-chien quietly follows them out and somehow all three end up sent back 100 years where they seek to change history to allow a beautiful Shao princess to marry the Han Chinese man she really loves. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
