Moraine Valley Community College was founded in 1967 and is located in Palos Hills, Illinois in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. It is the second largest community college in the state[1]. There are approximately 48,000 students enrolled as of the Fall 2008 semester.[2] The main campus of 294 acres (1.19 km2) is nestled in the Cook County forest preserves, and the college operates a satellite facility in Blue Island, Illinois. The Moraine Valley district is Illinois Community College District 524.
The Glacier is Moraine Valley's student newspaper.
