River, eastern Czech Republic. It rises in mountains and flows south to enter the Danube River just above Bratislava, Slovakia, after a course of 227 mi (365 km). In its lower course it first divides the Czech Republic from Slovakia and then divides Slovakia from Austria. It gives its name to Moravia, the area around it.
