Picking up where The Mighty Bob Marley left off, More of the Mighty Bob Marley bundles up another 16 Wailers numbers from the early reggae age. As fans have already come to expect from these types of compilations, the bulk of the set is given over to the group's work with Lee Perry, although a trio of tracks -- "Do It Twice," "Soul Captives" (incorrectly singularized on the sleeve), and "Stop the Train" -- were overseen by Leslie Kong. Of course, myriad other compilations are drawn from precisely this same pool of recordings. What sets this set apart, however, is the strength of the selections. Only "All in One" is truly superfluous, although collectors will want it, with the rest of the set stuffed with extremely strong numbers. Fan favorite Kong production "Soul Shakedown Party" appeared on the previous set, but the trio of others offered here are of equal quality, and hold their own against the Perry productions. Inevitably there's still some notable omissions, even taking Mighty's predecessor into consideration, with "Mr. Brown" and "My Cup" among the most shocking absences. But that aside, few will complain with the stellar numbers on offer here. ~ Jo-Ann Greene, Rovi
