Møre og Romsdal County Municipality (Norwegian: Møre og Romsdal fylkeskommune) is the regional governing administration of Møre og Romsdal, Norway. The main responsibilities of the county municipality includes the running of 24 upper secondary schools with 2,000 teachers. It also operates the owns and finances road network, although operation is done by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration. Further responsibilities are public transport, 38 dental clinics with 200 dentists, culture and cultural heritage.[1]
The county council has 47 members, and Chairman of the County Council is Jon Aasen (Labour Party) while his deputy is Gunn Berit Gjerde (Liberal Party). After the Norwegian local elections, 2011, the council consists of twelve representatives from the Labour Party, eleven representatives from the Conservative Party, eight representatives from the Progress Party, four representatives each from the Liberal Party, Christian Democratic Party and Centre Party, three representatives from the Sunnmøre List and one representative from the Socialist Left Party.[2]
