Morogoro Region is one of the regions of Tanzania. Its capital is Morogoro. It is bordered to the North by the Tanga Region, to the East by the Pwani and Lindi Regions, to the South by the Ruvuma Region and to the West by the Iringa and Dodoma Regions.
According to the 2002 Tanzania National Census, the population of the Morogoro Region was 1,759,809.[1]
The regional commissioner of the Morogoro Region is Retired Major Said Kalembo .[2]
The Morogoro Region is administratively divided into 6 districts: Mvomero, Kilosa, Kilombero, Morogoro Magharibi, Morogoro Mashariki, Ulanga
Morogoro is a region with various universities, Sokoine University of Agriculture, Morogoro Muslim University, and Mzumbe University. There are also colleges such as Morogoro Teachers' College (in Kigurunyembe Ward), Dakawa Teachers' College, and Land college.
