Motorola Mobility has a rich wireless heritage, thanks to former parent Motorola Solutions (formerly Motorola). An early developer of mobile device technology, Motorola Solutions spun off its handset business into the stand-alone company known as Motorola Mobility in early 2011. Motorola Mobility's products include handsets and smartphones, tablets, wireless accessories, set-top boxes, and video distribution products. Top customers include telecom carriers Verizon and Sprint. Though it has operations in some 40 countries, more than half of sales comes from the US. Google acquired Motorola Mobility for about $12.5 billion in 2012.
