Another in the label's seemingly endless flow of budget-priced hits collections, Motown Classic Hits 1 assembles a dozen familiar favorites from the company's early heyday. Despite the inclusion of classics like Barrett Strong's "Money (That's What I Want," Marvin Gaye's "Stubborn Kind of Fellow," the Marvelettes' "Please Mr. Postman" and the Miracles' "Shop Around," consumers are nevertheless better off with any one of a number of other Motown compilations -- this one is simply too short on material, without any kind of unifying theme linking the songs together. ~ Jason Ankeny, Rovi
