Mount Parnassus
Mountain in central Greece, just N of Delphi, rising to a height of 8,064 ft./2,457 m. Held to be sacred by the ancient Greeks, as was the spring of Castalia on its S slopes, it was associated with Apollo and the Muses and regarded as a symbol of poetry. Greek name Parnassós.
