Mt. Whitney High School is a public high school in Visalia, California, founded in 1937. It was the first high school in Visalia, although it was known by a different name until 1953 when the school's ASB[clarification needed] adopted that of "Mt. Whitney".

Mt Whitney High School currently offers a curriculum that prepares its students for post-secondary goals as well as for direct entry into the workplace. The school utilizes a six period day format with a 220-unit[clarification needed] requirement for graduation that includes school board education mandates of required classes as well as electives.[clarification needed]
In 2009 it was declared a California Distinguished School.[1]
Mt Whitney competes in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF), Central Section Division II, West Yosemite League (WYL). Most of the sports teams have won several league titles as well as CIF Central Section Division I and CIF Central Section Division II titles.
