The new Yingluck Shinawatra led government, who replaced the Abhisit Vejjajiva led government, has decided not to pursue plans to continue the MRT Grey Line and the MRT Light Blue Line, citing that the lines are not feasible within their 4 years 10 lines rush plan and that if the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration plan to pursue it, the BMA must find funding on its own. [1]
The route has a total of 9 planned stations.
