MTV Films is the motion picture production arm of cable channel MTV. Founded in 1996, it has produced films based on MTV programs such as Beavis and Butt-head Do America and Jackass: The Movie, as well as other adaptations and original projects. Its films are released by fellow Viacom division Paramount Pictures.
On August 21, 2006, Nickelodeon Movies and MTV Films became full labels of the Paramount Motion Pictures Group. MTV Films' most recent feature is the anti-Iraq War film Stop-Loss. Since the MTV network has a history of left-wing political activism [1], it is possible that similar films will be produced by MTV.
