Much Madness is divinest Sense —
To a discerning Eye —
Much Sense — the starkest Madness —
‘Tis the Majority
In this, as All, prevail —                    5
Assent — and you are sane —
Demur — you’re straightway dangerous —
And handled with a Chain —
