(medicine) Dilatation, particularly of a cavity, with mucus secretion. A polypoid lesion consisting of mucus and mucus-secreting tissue.

  • salivary m. — extravasation of saliva into subcutaneous tissue following injury to a salivary gland or duct. Most commonly seen in dogs as a fluctuant, sometimes large and pendulous, nonpainful mass in the intermandibular, cranial, cervical or sublingual area.
