Mudiriya (Arabic: مديرية, plural Mudiriyat), meaning "directorate" (from مدير mudir, meaning "director"), is an administrative subdivision. It was formerly used in Egypt and in Anglo-Egyptian Sudan. In modern Egypt, these subdivisions have been replaced by governates (muhafazat).
