[mews-KAH (muhs-KAT) duh mee-ray-VAHL] appellation centered around the town of Mireval, southwest of Monpellier on the Mediterranean in France's languedoc-roussillon region. It produces a well-known vin doux naturel (sweet fortified wine) made from the Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains variety (see muscat). The wines from Mireval are similar to those from the neighboring Frontignan (see muscat de frontignan), although they are slightly bigger and richer.
