Music was the first (official) studio album by 311 as the previous releases were released independently. It was released on February 9, 1993, and "Do You Right" was released as a single. The album was certified Gold in 1999 by the RIAA, having sold over 500,000 copies.[1]
"Fat Chance" – 5:05 (contains a new version of "Fuck the Bullshit". This track is not listed in the Volcano imprint of the album. However, it remains on the record as a hidden track.)
The lyric "Nod your head to this" in "Plain" is repeated on a Grassroots track, "Applied Science."
The lyric "my friend the city pity everywhere the enemy" is heard both on "Visit" and "Paradise."
The lyric "trip the shrooms fantastic, shit gets drastic" heard in the intro to "Fat Chance", is later repeated on a 311 track, "Loco."
The lyric "some of them whine, some of them bitch, we cannot do it we never switch" in "Paradise" is later repeated on the Soundsystem lead single, "Come Original."
