Review

If you didn't associate the word "funky" with Joey Chavez's production skills before this album, your attitude is likely about to change. Some of the grooviest, deepest, most intricate hip-hop beats are featured here, with Chavez responsible for all of them. What makes this album different from most instrumental albums is that these beats are completely finished with all the right elements in all the right places. From the start of each tune the track kindly introduces you to the beat and then rides with you through a musical journey. These are the kind of beats where you almost don't miss the MC because of the varied elements that keep your attention coming back for more. It wouldn't be a bad idea to get out your headphones for this one. ~ Brad Mills, All Music Guide
