Plot

When immigrants try to blend in with the residents of their new country, sometimes they can go too far in trying to escape their heritage. In this program, Suzanne sees her mother trying hard to dress like a movie star or Jackie Kennedy, hoping to look less Chinese. She instills in Suzanne a belief that it is not acceptable to seem foreign, and this concept becomes very confusing. In My Mother Thought She Was Audrey Hepburn, the daughter tries several looks before deciding that there is really nothing wrong with her appearance. The story is told with warmth and humor. ~ Alice Day, Rovi
