Review
No, not a Japanese group, Totimoshi is a metallic Oakland power trio (they do have a half-Cuban female bassist, though, which is far more rare for this sort of group) releasing its third LP. Imagine this: the band's music is too huge -- heavy even for old grunge fans, and too raw for your average metal follower. There's nowhere they fit in, which makes them more interesting -- they're a genre unto themselves. The well-titled ¿Mysterioso? is so fleshy, it is reminiscent of the days of Blue Cheer, like some kind of Stooges/Slayer black-fog mix. It feels like a giant blob (like the movie) coming down your street, destroying everything in its path. Here's betting that all three members are deaf or dumbfounded by 40; these riffs are so chunky they are to rock & roll what William "Refrigerator" Perry was to running backs.
