Some folks love this record. I'm not one of them, but I do like it and recommend it. There is something restrained about the playing by the backing band the Majestics, specifically the rhythm section of bassist Jim Schwartz and Louis LaVilla, who don't seem to groove hard enough. Side one, which is only three tracks long, is better than side two, which tends to fall apart halfway through. Scratch, however, is in fine fettle, and his stream-of-consciousness toasting more than makes up for lackluster riddims. ~ John Dougan, All Music Guide
