Myxer was founded in 2005 by Myk Willis, who is also the CEO.[1] In 2005, Myxer received little revenue. In 2006, it received $100,000, and by 2007, the company earned $300,000.[1] The company has fifty employees.[1] As of 2009, Myxer has 27 million users.[2]
Registered users can upload pictures and songs to be used as wallpapers big and small and ringtones. Myxer supports most phones, including iPhones, and popular carriers.[2]
Some phone companies have disabled support for Myxer on select phones, or on their carrier altogether. The following are the carriers that do not support Myxer.
Virgin Mobile does not allow free content to be downloaded onto their handsets. However, customers with a balance matching the price of the ringtone, may be able to purchase ringtones from the site
