Wastewater sludge smells like money to N-Viro International. The company's patented process converts sludge and other bio-organic waste into a better-quality soil by treating it with alkaline by-products. The treated N-Viro Soil is used in agriculture and as a landfill cover material, among other applications. N-Viro has licensed its recycling process to more than 35 wastewater treatment plants around the world. Outside the US, the company's process is marketed through a network of agents. N-Viro International itself manages two facilities that uses the process, under a contract with the City of Toledo, Ohio and another in Volusia County, Florida.
