Naisten Liiga ("Women's League") is the highest division of women's football in Finland. The competition was first held in 1971. Up to 2006 it was known as Naisten SM-sarja ("Women's Finnish championship series").
The league consists of 10 clubs who play two rounds with a total of 27 matches per team in a season. At the end of the season the 10th placed team is relegated to the second level. The league champion qualifies for the next season's UEFA Women's Champions League.
