Plot

This film is part home movie, part documentary, part sociological case study, and is all about the relationship between three generations of director Amalie Rothschild's family. At first the film was to have been about her grandmother, "Nana," but Nana grew weary of her granddaughter and her granddaughter's views (i.e., on abortion), and sent her packing. Then the director sought counsel with her mother, and the film records their conflicts and eventual mutual understanding. Much of the film consists of 8 mm home movies blown up to 16 mm. ~ Clarke Fountain, Rovi
