Nanjing Museum (Chinese: 南京博物院; pinyin: Nánjīng Bówuyuán;) is located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China, on East Zhongshan Road, about 3 km from the Xinjiekou traffic circle to the east, just inside Zhongshan Gate. It is one of the largest museums in China.
Exhibition halls
There are eleven exhibition halls:
- Ancient Chinese Earthenware
- Ancient Chinese Jade
- Ancient Chinese Calligraphy & Painting
- Bronze Ware
- Cultural Relics
- Folk Art
- Jiangnan Silk Product
- Ming and Qing Porcelain
- Modern Art
The jade exhibition includes the famous full size suit of armour made from small jade tiles held together by silver wire.
The folk museum includes full sized mannequins dressed in traditional local costume.
There is also an exhibition of laquerware.
