Nantong University (simplified Chinese: 南通大学; traditional Chinese: 南通大學; pinyin: Nántōng Dàxué), colloquially known in Chinese as Tong da (通大, Tōngdà), was established in 1912. The university is located in Nantong, Jiangsu province, China. It occupies 4000 Mu and have 800 thousand square meters used to establish buildings in school. Nantong is comprehensive university constructed by Jiangsu Provincial Government and the state Ministry of Transport. It is composed of three parts, Nantong Medical College、Nantong Engineering College and Nantong Normal College and has four campuses--they are the new campus、Qixiu campus、Zhongxiu campus and Qidong campus. In school, nearly 34 thousand full-time students study and do further research here. Among them, there are about 1550 graduates and 300 oversea students, others are common undergraduates. The university contains 84 kinds of undergraduate programs based on nine major disciplines, which are literature、science、engineering、medical science、education、economics、the science of law、history and management. The equipments in Nantong University are renewed and worth more than 399millions.It has a great number of books and search systems.
