A proprietary preparation consisting of tablets of naproxen (an non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) packaged with tablets of misoprostol (a prostaglandin analogue). It is used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis; the misoprostol is included to prevent the bleeding and ulceration of the stomach or duodenum that may result from the use of naproxen alone. Napratec is available on prescription only.
