Narada

Nārada is a ṛṣi (see ṛṣi), or sage, with great ascetic powers. He is a creation of the Hindu (see Hindu entries) god Brahmā (see Brahmā). Like the other ṛṣis, he is a messenger between humans and deities. But Nārada is a notorious troublemaker. It is he who tells Kaṃsa (see Kaṃsa) that he will be killed by Devakī's (see Devakī) eighth child, causing the threat to Kṛṣṇa's (see Kṛṣṇa, Vālmīki) life.
