(electronics) The lowest resonant frequency of an antenna, circuit, or component.
(physics) The frequency with which a system oscillates in the absence of external forces; or, for a system with more than one degree of freedom, the frequency of one of the normal modes of vibration.


 
 
Architecture: natural frequency

One of a number of frequencies at which a system or object tends to vibrate if subject to a mechanical displacement or impact and then allowed to vibrate freely.


 
Sports Science and Medicine: natural frequency

The frequency of free oscillations of anybody in a system. See also resonance.
