Founded in 1983, Nautica has evolved from a collection of men’s outerwear to a leading global lifestyle brand with products ranging from men’s, women’s and children’s apparel and accessories to a complete home collection. Now part of VF Corporation, a leader in branded quality apparel, Nautica has become one of the most important American brands throughout the world.
Nautica took its name from the Latin word “Nauticus” for ship, and uses a spinnaker logo as "a symbol of adventure, action and classicism" in an effort to reflect one of mankind’s first accomplishments: exploring the world by taking to the seas.
According to its website, Nautica represents "both a rediscovery and a reinterpretation of what Americans have always wanted to wear." Today Nautica is available in more than 60 countries with more than 200 Nautica branded stores worldwide.
Nautica has 200 free-standing retail stores outside of mainland USA which include Abu Dhabi, Bahamas, Bali, Beijing, Costa Rica, Dubai, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Macau, Mexico City, Panama, Peru, Romania, Shanghai, Turkey and Venezuela.
Nautica is licensed and distributed in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Italy, Greece, Canada, UAE, India, Israel, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean basin.
